about me
Welcome!
I’m Kiera, an intuitive Shiatsu practitioner based in Western Massachusetts. My journey into healing began with a deep interest in the body’s natural ability to restore balance. For a long time, this was expressed through dance, contact improv and yoga. After seeing such a dramatic change in my own health through somatic practices, I’ve come to understand that physical health is so closely connected to emotional and mental well-being, and this insight has shaped my approach to Shiatsu.
Shiatsu is a Japanese healing art that combines gentle pressure, stretching, and bodywork to stimulate the body’s energy flow. I believe in meeting each person where they are and tailoring each session to their unique needs, whether you’re seeking relief from pain, stress, or simply looking to reconnect with your body’s natural rhythms. My practice is grounded in empathy, patience, and a deep trust in the body’s ability to heal itself. My touch is often felt at the emotional level, and if I have a special power, it is that – to reach in through the surface of your body to unlock and release emotional stuck-ness.
I’m here to help you feel more grounded, balanced, and at ease—whether you’re navigating a specific challenge or just looking for an opportunity to unwind and reconnect. I approach each session with mindfulness and a sincere desire to support you on your journey toward greater health and well-being.
I look forward to working with you and creating a space where you can relax, restore, and reconnect with yourself.
I received my training from training from the McKinnon Institute in Oakland, learning under a series of truly extraordinary teachers who demonstrated in their physical and spiritual power how effective Shiatsu is to both give and receive. After building a beautiful practice in Oakland for several years, I moved back to my home state of Massachusetts to raise my family.
I find that the practice of both giving and receiving bodywork enhances life and informs touch on all levels – from partnership/family, animal relationships, gardening, care-taking, to cleaning, communicating and making music.
I hope to meet you!
